Lydia was a special little girl who captured the hearts of many people with her infectious laugh. She loved listening to music and would enjoy anything with a good beat! Her favourite TV programme was pippin the dog and she adored her beloved Tweenies. She was also inseparable from her devoted twin sister and they would often get up to mischief together. When Lydia was 3 years old she was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour and for the next 3 years of her life she spent most of it in hospital needing many operations and invasive treatments. Throughout this time she showed amazing bravery and stamina and kept everyone entertained with her funny little ways. Sadly on the 13th July 2009 the fight became far too much for her and she passed away in the arms of Mummy and Daddy. Throughout this time she always had a smile on her face and never complained. We as a family were given the wonderful opportunity of a family holiday from a children’s cancer charity during Lydia’s last few months and we will always remember the special time we had together. Due to our wonderful time we had on the holiday we decided we would like to give something back and so Lydia’s Lodge was born.

Lydia’s Lodge is a lovely place situated at Porthmadog for families who find themselves in similar situations where they can go to create special memories together. All the funds raised for the Love Of Lydia Charity will go to the upkeep of the lodge.
